    when sowing seeds in pots do you just put one seed in or do you put in a couple in case on doesn't germinate

    sorry for the silly questions

    I always put more than I want in case they don't germinate/get eaten. The main thing is to not have them too close, and not sow 300 carrot seeds when you only have a small patio

      Most peeps would prob say put a couple of seeds in each pot. That way if both germinate you can wait a little while see which one looks the strongest, then remove and destroy the other seedling! I however find it hard to destroy plants deliborately, so I just plant a few of each and keep all that grow!

        This was told to me about sowing>>>>

        One for the mouse, One for the crow, One to rot, One to grow.

        So of the few things I have planted I do put in a few more, not many as waste for waste sake seems silly to me...

        but I am hoping that as the time goes by (not first year of growing for me) that wont be so necessary as I will have a better idea of what I am doing,...lol

          i sow 2 or more seeds per pot/cell etc - i keep the strongest, the weak ones go in the compost bin
