    Some advice please...

I am hoping to grow carrots, cauliflowers, onions, dwarf beans in pots on the patio. Is this feasible and if so can you tell me how many of each you can put in a pot of say a foot square and what distance between each plants?

For dwarf beans can I start them indoors and then trnsplant them to a bigger pot later on? The dwarf bean I have is called Speedy.

    Thanks.

    Hi Timemellowed

Most things can be started indoors and most things can be grown in the right sized pot.
That's the advice you'll find on here.
I am just starting out myself and plan to grow the majority of my crops in containers of some sort.

Not sure about cauliflowers and onions as they may require more room, but I have carrots (albeit a small round variety) growing in a pot of about that size. Beans love pots!

You might find it handy to look at sowing your beans into the loo rolls/paper rolls - see Top Tips - rather than seed tray and then transfer, to avoid damaging the root structure. I'm doing that with most of mine.

Someone more experienced will also wander onto this thread and help you out - just ask for Yoda!
