I'm in Tennessee on holiday at the moment and have dragged my OH around an assortment of Garden Centres, Farmers Markets, Farmers Co Ops and Supercentres in the two weeks we have been here. I now have another 26 new packets of seeds I have no real need for but that's not the point is it?

I use coloured folder dividers and have marked a different month on each tab. When I've sown something and have seed left over but want to sew more I moved the half used pack to the next month

I bought more seeds. I went into poundland and the darn things enticed me. They are the collection packets where you get 6 packets of seed in one packet. I bought 3 lots. Ooooh but on a plus side I bought a nice long box with blue lid to put my seeds in

My Dig In seeds arrived yesterday and someone gave me some sugar snaps today, so more work to do.

I'm having a fair amount of success with my Moreveg seeds. The tarragon, thai basil, coriander, climbing french beans, leeks, parsnips (on wet tissue) have germinated well. My only problem so far is 1 out of 4 cucumbers, I really want two plants so am hoping another appears soon.

Oh my goodness, I'm so glad I found this thread! I was beginning to think I was such a saddo, amassing all these packets of seeds (in just over a week!) and rifling through them a million times a day ... not quite up to the 500s yet, but give me time!

Think I need to find a nice tin now

I had a potential seed packet disaster on Sunday.
Realised that I'd left my seed box (empty Chicken Poo Pellet container) out overnight, had not put the lid back on properly.....and we'd had rain!!!!
After kicking myself all round the plot and some choice language, I rushed everything home to assess the damage.
Fortunately the only thing that seemed to have got really wet was a three year old part pack of runner beans which I don't think would have been viable anyway. Everything else was emptied carefully out of its packet, wrapped in a sheet of kitchen roll - envelope style with name, variety etc on it, and put on the top of the radiator overnight. The empty packets I dried in the same way, and then reunited seed with packet the next day. Phew!
I don't know if I have ruined my entire collection, only time will tell, but at least I didn't have quite as many packets of seed as some of you!

Oh Creemteez what a nightmare Fingers crossed it is just those beans. If you need anything just shout, I'm sure I have some spare (I haven't got runners though only climbing french beans)

Thanks guys. That's really kind of you. Fortunately, I have sown practically everything I needed to. My runners are four inches high, and I'm itching to get them in, but holding on for another week or so.
No, I think I'll be ok. It'll be the successional sowing stuff that will let me know just how much damage I've done.
                    Thanks again!

Ah there now - it's not as bad as I thought. I have counted my seeds and there are only 59 packets, 29 of which have been half used. I have cut up a printer cartridge box and covered it with pictures of vegetables. I have put in dividers to separate bras, legs, etc. and made a space for the box in my dry, warm, dark cupboard so they are easily accessible and comfortable. I'm going to laminate some veg pictures tomorrow to cut into labels. Who's obsessed? It's perfectly normal. Now I've counted I'm off to moreveg for seeds with a clean conscience! (and a beautiful box).

The bras and legs are only compatible in the seed box.

Confession being good for the soul...

I like to bring out my biscuit tin, take out all the packets, look at them, put them back.

Sometimes, for a bit of excitement, I take out all the packets, write a list of all their names, look at them, put them back.

If I feel like going really crazy, I take out all the packets, enter all the names and sowing times into a spreadsheet, look at them, put them back.

This is my first attendance at Seed Hoarders Anonymous... I feel better already

Have you been spying on me????

Oh dear, just bought £6 of seeds from moreveg.co.uk after reading all of this - at 50p a packet and an interesting choice of seeds who can blame me. I'll have to get an extension on the ice cream box.
