I got mine the same, ordered Easter Monday - fab service! The little bags they come in are great for the kids to see the seeds too (without sticking their fingers in lol)!
AND the sowing/growing instructions on the back are soo easy to understand! Esp for newbies like me! lol
I look at it this way, the free postage is after a fiver spent, so i just add it upto a fiver - because of the size of the packs and cost you end up getting lots of choice. Im hoping to grow a few of many varieties rather than 2 rows of cabbages and 2 of carrots and thats it lol!

You are better at adding to a fiver than I am ! I was using the shopping basket but being dopey wasn't paying attention. Never mind, what I got I'm really pleased with and I am besides myself with impatience waiting for something to germinate.

I had my 5 year old son making paper pots to plant them all in and was rooting through the cupboards trying to find old yoghurt pots etc when we ran out of paper, but did finally get them all sorted and there really isn't any more space on any window sills now.

A quick count of the seed packets I can actually find tallies at 537. Do I win? (Bet I don't!).
I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom

                      Blimey oh reilley......

I was pleased as punch when I finished off 30 [yes 30] packets of onions/shallots/leeks this week. But I have never counted separate packets of seeds and hopefully never will....

I too used to be like that and if your not careful you waste seeds as they go out of date. Nowadays i keep a list of what i have. I also sort all of my seeds so that they are in order, not just roots, brassica's etc but in monthly order too as there are never enough hours in the day once the allotment is running its course and then you find out its too late to use some of the bloomin stuff. I know you can get a sleeve type calendar for gardeners with the months on and you fit the appropriate seeds in the correct corresponding months.

Erm... I'm from farming stock. Does that count, even though I now live in cosy suburbia?

I dunno, you'd think some people had nowt better to do, wouldn't you

yeah I agree with putting them in monthly sowing order.......otherwise I tend t o forget when something needs sowing....I wrote them all in a notepad last year.
I also started a gardening diary and last year did it on the pc with what I grew, what germinated, what I harvested....it started well but I abandoned it when we started the chicken house building project.
This year I've been slow to start and only started the gardening on Easter Sunday. Have started noting it in a diary too....

Nice to know there are other like-minded peeps out there!
