Having read loads of tips on the forum about using loo rolls I decided I'd give it a try this year. I've got cauliflower and peppers growing in them the moment. My question is though will the mould that is covering the loo rolls damage the seedling plants?

I like a bit of mould... makes me feel like a proper gardener
My tip: if you're going to give any seedlings away, do it before the mould appears - or wrap the loo roll in summat... my neighbour looked most disconcerted last year when I presented her with some sweet peas in mould-speckled tubes...

What a relief, I was beginning to think I'd wasted my time. I have not yet put any loo rolls in the microwave but will try this method at the weekend and hopefully won't set the house on fire in the process. Thanks for all your replies I feel a lot better continuing to use them now and save a bit of money as well.
