  • This weekend I shall be...

    ... planting:
    French Beans (Dwarf) Stanley
    Pumpkin Orbit F1
    Sweetcorn Earlibird F1

Now I believe these are all a nice indoor/greenhouse planting session, seed tray/toilet roll tubes, maybe a bit of soaking of sweetcorn kernels, however what would YOU do....?

French beans....I'm in the Midlands so they aren't going in for another 2 weeks yet.

Pumpkin....i've sown a few pumpkins and courgettes for my brother and his family, the pumpkin is just out [they are in jiffy 7s for ease of transport]...and I suspect they will all be in their own 3 inch pots by the time we build the raised beds at easter.

Sweetcorn, going for finedon dandy's method of rolling them into kitchen roll and unrolling once germinated and into the pots. The thing to remember is to give them enough space so that when you separate them, they don't lose the original kernel....so modules or paper pots or loo roll innerds are the best bet. But, not until Easter for us.

Hi Zazen, what is Finedon Dandy's method - I did a search but can't find it??
