That's a good idea Earthbabe - they might germinate better that way.

Sorry for all the questions but i've never planted peas at this time of year.
      Hi Bramble,
I'm planting fortune peas. Its the first time I have tried them and according to the seed pack they can overwinter outside, but as a precaution I'll keep an eye on the weather forecasts and cover them if frost is imminent.
Have also planted some broad bean Aquadulce Claudia

Maybe if nice this weekend, will bung in some sort of Aquadulce broadies, and my Meteor (or another overwinter variety). I also started some brassicas off - cauli/calabrese in rootrainers (the organic gardening catalogue said for calabrese "Can also be sown in cold tunnel/glass in February or Autumn") Will overwinter in greenhouse when first frost comes.

Loo roll inners currently being used as "telescopes"

I've tried loo roll inners for sweet peas in the past & just ended up with a mouldy mess so now I just tear them up into little pieces & add them to the compost heap.
Into every life a little rain must fall.
