I've got one of those TS and although he never comments to me about the growing (wonderful) and the eating (bliss) I have overheard his proud comments to other people about my garden. Strange that, but that's men for you.

Absolutely agree with you Susie. I started about 4 years ago, so still very much a novice, but totally and utterly hooked. I keep stealing more and more grass from my lawns to dedicate to veg. Welcome to the veg bug. This site is a Godsend particularly for those of us with no-one else interested at home.

I have no soil to steal. Everything is in containers which I suppose is good because you control what the soil is like I just keep buying more containers

Ahh never mind you can still grow as well in containers, that's how I started out and then I graduated to raised beds. I was amazed at how much I could produce from the tubs. Good luck with it.

I have raised beds but they are sat on concrete. I have a concrete ledge that runs the length of the garden. Its at the back and get sun for most of the day. So far I have 3 1 by 0.5 metre beds, 2 1 by 1 metre beds. Loads of pots, about 15 black flower pots from the supermarket and I've just bought 5 50l containers with lids from ebay. Plus I'm hoping I will have my greenhouse built in the next month or so.

I was going to put my butternut squash and courgettes in grow bags. The daft thing is that there just me. I guess the neighbours might be getting fresh veg. Plus I want to keep my brother and sister in law in veggies

After reading PW post about asparagus in pots I bought 3 plants from ebay. I'm like a woman possessed. There is no help for me

                Hi Susiewoosie,

I too am an addict. Everything is bursting up, soon the Veggie beds will be full, and the garden too, I am running out of space in the Greenhouse.

                Panic!!!

I will just have to get moving and put them outside, but not enough time in the day.

Yup - a seed addict here too, and proud

Interesting what you say Florence F about the man taking all the credit. Mine will put in 4 hrs down the allotment poking a bit of soil for 5 - 10 min max, spend quite some time sat in MY shed and endlessly chatting away to the other blokes about what HE intends to plant and what HE has growing in modules at home (whilst moaning to me that the house is 'like bl***y Kew gardens') and to top it all gives out advice I have given HIM

Still I suppose it drags him away from the gogglebox!

Another addict here! Trying to figure out where I am going to put everything as the list of plants currently germintating away keeps getting longer!

I'm hopeless - every February, all other interests go out of the window and I become completely obsessed with growing stuff. I have two biscuit tins full of seed packets, a conservatory overflowing with pots and seed trays, and now a neatly-organised Filofax with detailed records of what I've sown when and how much has germinated/been potted on

Mr E is gradually getting more enthusiastic, as long as I let him do the "manly" things, e.g. building a compost bin from old pallets (like I couldn't do it myself...)

Yup, that pretty much sums up my life!

I'm growing far to much for us to eat, and even stuff i know we don't really like, just because I can!

OH is very supportive, 'cos when I'm in the garden he can be playing in his garage.

My two sons think I'm barking though - last year when I proudly showed them my first cauliflower, they seemed truly concerned for my sanity
                            Never say never!

And just recently, I've been feeling the need to check that the garden is still there, in the middle of the night! If I have to get up I always have a quick peep out of the bedroom curtains!
