Another addict here, I have so many seeds packets and no room to sow them or grow them even with an allotment. My OH isnt interested one iota about gardening but will do the diy stuff for me. I took on the allotment as MY project and it is MY shed. I intend to do a car boot soon and will take my excess plants with me. so far I have loads of strawberry plants ( runners ) some cabbage, everlasting wallflower, osteospernums (sp ) and hollyhocks, might give me enough to get back some of the costs as most of it has been free as in cuttings and seeds taken from exsisting things, even the pots they are in were free. Hoping to put the money raised towards edging for the allotment.Gardening ..... begins with daybreak
and ends with backache

I regularly frogmarch Mr Sweepster into the garden in order to show him a newly opened flower, a newly hatched tadpole or an 'interesting' weed, then proceed to spend the whole time barking 'Don't tread on THAT!!!' as he flollops around on top of my beautiful delicate plants with his big clown feet instead of STICKING TO THE PATH
I really can't understand why he doesn't spend more time out there; I find it so relaxing...

Hi Susie!
Please ad another member to the seed germination addiction list!! lol
I am proud to say that; yes I am also hooked on watching seeds germinatie. To me it is facinating watching that little dried up thing become a baby plant, then mature into something we can eat or into a georgious flower!
After many years of being in none gardening mode ie "gardeners rehab!" lol My addiction to gardening has won the battle and has re-emerged with a vengeance. This year is my first year back at playing the good life! lol Only this time I will be trying anything and everything I can get my hands on and find room for in my garden and newly renovated g/h.
At the moment in my g/h, I have got lots of different typess of tomatoes, chilli’s and peppers all started in January. Since then, a couple of melon's from seeds I saved form a shop bought melon. Courgettes, cucumbers, assorted salad leaves for cut and come again, a mixture of herbs, a few Swede, and just a few each of cauliflower and psb, some marigolds, French climbing beans, Dwarf French beans and some mangetout. Not sure if have forgotten anything oh yes some spring onions, bulb onions, beatroot some radishes and I think last but not least so far; (phew she pauses to draw breath) I planted some spuds a few days ago! I also have some onions and carrots in the garden that have overwintered nicely
For most of the things on the above list this will be my first time ever trying them so it is a matter of fingers crossed, talk to them nicely, love and tend for their needs while I watch them hopefully grow big and strong. Then when they are on my plate, sit back and say a big thank you to Jah/GodLive like you never lived before!
Laugh Like you never laughed before!
Love like you never loved before!

Luckily there's a check on my compulsive gardening behaviour. I work 12 hour shifts, nights and days so for the past few months it's been dark going and coming to work, so I haven't been able to see in the garden at night.
Now it's lighter, I usually end up spending an hour sitting outsdie on nights before going to bed willing ym seedlings to reveal themselves to me.
And I've planned for these three days to be spent sowing beans etc, so I cn get my fingers dirty again.
I love it, I'm an addict too.
It's great.
