Saving Tomato Seeds - Seed Saving for Next Year's Tomato Crop

There are other sites on the net as well this is just the first one I picked! Try and remind me at the end of the season and I will send you some seeds from my toms! I would have thought that paying for the plants would cost more than seeds especially if you want to try a few different types!
Thanks or the offer of seeds. I think this year has just been a bit of a learning curve and I will have my greenhouse next year. They are coming next Tuesday or Wednesday to lay the concrete base.

No worries just ask me later in the year! Remind me and I wil send you some seeds I am planing to save what I can from my plants. Chilli and pepper seeds are easy to save as well you just gently scrape them out of the fruit dry and save them. Store in the same way as it says on the tomato link I put on here!

Please post some pics of your g/h from the base onward, lets see how it goes!

Just went out to change the net I had on my iceberg lettuce and various seed. The one I had put on was too heavy and when I watered or it rained it sagged. It has nice light netting on them now. Some of the latest seeds have sprouted unfortunately these are the ones that Sascha (9month old Ruby King Charles Cavalier) decided to pull out all the lovely labels I had put in.

My strawberry plants have some flowers starting to appear. Do I need to feed them and if so what please?

My peas seem to be doing okay after their (and my) traumatic start in life

Found myself on Ebay again and I've bought some Red Bull sprouts and also a mixture of 10 packets of seeds for £2.00 I really must start to avoid ebay or I won't be eating till my veg grows

          Hi All,

I have just started growing various things these last few weeks (apart from the chilli plants i grew last spring), i think i'm driving my other half mad as i am currently taking up the living room and hallway with plants
I have a herb pot with basil, chives and coriander, a rocket plant (which isn't looking too good at mo) 2 pots of garlic and my chilli plants- i also have a large rubber plant in the living room.

And now i have started on the garden- i have a strawberry basket and two veg baskets that contain potatoes and onions.

I've got to say i absolutly love it, and like others say once you get bitten by the bug you can't stop, i just want to find out as much information about looking after them as i can and i love the buzz you get when your seedlings pop out the soil and your plants grow fruit! i'm always going on about them to my O/H and he trys to be intrested but he switches off after a bit- just like i do when he goes on about cars lol.

Can I join the gang! I have been doing it for a week and am loving it! At the moment I can only manage a container garden because of where we live but one day I will have a proper garden!

                          • You go for it Mchanen. I've still got to plant my herbs. The only ones I've got so far is Rosemary and a mint. The mnt was a shop bought one. I kept it on the windowsill coz I loved the smell. It was great just going over to it and rubbing the leaves I cut it right down and buried it a bigger pot. I've had a root round and its starting to grow.

I made my brother and sister in law look at all the pots when they came round today. My next door neighbour came and had a look as well. I think he wants to start growing a few veggies. I need to get some flowers in there as well.

What was really cool was when I started taking the pictures of the garden with my phone a bee came and sat on my fingernail and tried to polinate it. I think it was because my phone is purple. I was way cool

Talking about pictures, who's got albums on here. If you have why don't you list them and we can all look and steal ideas
