  • When I can't sleep I plan what I want to grow, how to arrange the beds and where I can fit new containers. Only problem is my plot is much, much larger in my mind
After years of growing beans and potatoes outside the backdoor in pots and tubs I have been 'allowed' an 8 x 8 ft plot. Mum says I am like a 3 year old who's just been given a bit of garden.

    • I ended up in poundland again today and came away with 3 packs of seeds. The ones where there are 6 packets in each, a blueberry bush that looks half dead and a planter for it. Also go 2 long boxes with lids that my seeds will fit nicely in and 5 pots that are about 5" wide (not sure why I wanted them!!!)

I'm running out of space for all my pots and still I want to grow more. It's insane I tell you, insane

I had a "Veggiemare" last night. Dreamt that I went to the plot and a cat had sat on the emerging shoots of all my spuds squashing each one flat. I actually jerked awake whimpering, and was all twitchy until I could get up there and make sure that it WAS just a dream! Mr C thinks I need professional help. He doesn't know about the "Postman Incidents" (See "The Excitement Never Ends)

            • Oh well my 3 dwarf fruit trees have turned up. I hope it stops raining long enough for me to pot them on

              • Although thinking about it I might just put them in the spare room for a little bit. Just until it warms up.

                • Hello! Can I join in this obsession thread too?

One of the highlights of my day is to go outside and have a peek in my mini greenhouse to see what seeds have germinated.

I've had this veggie growing bug since 2005 growing one or two things in pots and hanging baskets. This year is the first time I have a bit of garden to grow things in PROPER GROUND. So excited!

                  • *shyly puts hand up*

I have become obsessed in the space of about two weeks! Dreams of allotment plans (I'm on a waiting list) keep me awake at night, and in the morning the first thing I do is inspect my little seedlings My garden is very small, and I only have a small raised bed and some pots, but after years of scoffing at my mother's gardening enthusiasm (not veggies though) I have been well and truly bitten!

Now ... off to look at my rocket seedling again ....
