Hi am new to growing my own veg and am wondering if you can grow carrots in tubs or does it have to be in the garden?

This guide was posted on the forum not long ago and I think it seems very helpful.
I sowed some Early Nantes 5 carrots in a container on 31st March and today they are like this...
It will soon be time to thin them out I think, but I'm waiting until they are 1" tall.
The boxing-ring arrangement is to keep the cats out - and it worked

I grew mine in old swing bins last year. I didn't exactly "thin" them, but I kept taking the babies to cook so the ones left got bigger each time. They were the best carrots I've ever tasted and the children loved picking their own and eating them raw. I'm risking them in the ground this time, but they are in a raised bed covered with a canopy of fleece.Granny on the Game in Sheffield
