Sweetcorn - quick query

Hello all,
I've just bought a little sweetcorn plant. Its in a 7cm pot and there are six individual shoots about 10cm high in it. I just wonder if anyone could tell me:

-Can I grow this in a pot/trough? If so, what size?
-Do I thin the individual shoots out or transfer the six shoots as a whole?

Thin them out, plant about 18" ish apart, in a block. You can get away with planting them in a very large pot I'd expect, as long as they had the right spacing. Trouble is, they're wind pollinated, the blossoms at the top are the male flowers and get blown onto the tassles of the cobs, the females.
If you kept them inside a greenhouse or something ( they grow over 6ft) and shook them now and again when the blossoms on the top are out, you might be ok.
You do need quite a few outside in a block, 16 plants or so.
They won't like the forst either so don't plant outside before the frosts have passed.

Ah thank you, I didn't know that. Hmm this could be tricky! I only have one of those little walk in green houses so might have to do them outside. I only have a patio garden though. Would a couple of growbags side by side with three in each one do the trick?

They make quite big plants with strong root systems, so not sure a growbag would be enough room, unless you grow one per bag. You may have to stake them to the ground as they'll get rather top heavy as the season progresses. You'll also need to water them very frequently, whereas in the ground they pretty much look after themselves.
