Tomatoes, cucumbers, squash would all be fine.

From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.

I think i'm right in saying that dwarf beans can be grown in pots, would not put too many per pot though! I would think that as long as you water and feed regularly they will be fine in a 12 inch pot! I am sure I saw dwarf beans being sold at B&q. The pot looked to be about that size to me, they were posh coloured pots as well. I think some peeps on here have been growing beans in pots indors as an experiment to have an extended crop.

Someone more in the know than me will be here soon im sure!

Chilli plants and some pepper plants and a bush tomato will be fine in a pot as well! Just feed and water bit more often than iff were in the ground because a pot will dry our more quickly!

You can see the size of the pot from the photo of my chilli plant in my album as that is a 12" pot.

Thank you all for the ideas i'm certainly thinking about the Cucumbers and Dwarf beans

Also i was thinking of getting the "Let's Grow Veg" magazine and getting those seeds- do you think i could pot some of those in the 12" pots?

A keen gardener friend told me she grows courgettes in her 12" pots so thought I'd give this a go this year to see how it turns out

Tomatoes only need a 12" pot? I think I may have over indulged mine - do they behave like peppers ie they produce more fruit if restricted?

Ive got 24 pots on my patio empty and waiting for filling, so ill watch this thread for any ideas, ive already planned cukes, peppers, dwarf beans and toms. The more in pots the better for me due to lack of space!

I've got chives, coriander, spring onions, lollo rosso and red salad bowl in pots at the moment, carrots and shallots sown in buckets and some radishes and carrots in 12" buckets.

I hadn't thought of carrots in pots, was told not to bother with carrots in the ground as the carrots turn out all wonky lol. So may have to rethink that it is possible

Unless I try iddy biddy carrots in the ground

Thanks everyone for the ideas- i've got loads of seeds (out of the Let's grow veg magazine) so i am going grow courgettes and spring onions in the 12" pots, i've got some smaller pots that i'm going to grow some Mizuna and Pak Choi in as cut and come again and also pot some Spinach.

I'm going to get a large trough type tub to plant some carrots, broccoli and turnips.
