Red Aphids on Acer plant

Hi,
My 3 year old acer plant is in a large pot in a shady spot in my back garden. 2 weeks back I noticed it had flowered and also there very large number of red aphids on the new leafs that grew on it. So I sprayed it with mild liquid dish washing liquid soultion. Now all the leaves looks scorched. Most of the old aphids are dead but I saw new ones too. What can I do to recover my plant. Should I move the pot a different location. What about the scorched leaves?

Just keep on spraying I guess Nothing you can do about the leaves, but on the plus side its not evergreen so will look better next year

Might not just be the spraying which has scorched the leaves, you don't say where you are, but if you've has strong winds of late, as we have, that can scorch the leaves. I have number of acers in large pots and if it's very windy I try to move them or protect them as they scorch very easily.

I am in Reading and the weather has been ok here. My pot is next to the fence and I don't get any sun at present on this spot. I'll guess I'll keep watching the plant and try to squash any new aphids with hand
