Plant wilted and died....

I grew several plants from seedlings to the point where they are huge as in 3 feet high and can't get any bigger due to the small pots they are in. They are grown to be planted outside. I transplanted them outside and the next morning 3/4 are shriveled up and brown and the other 1/4 are drooping but seems to be getting stronger. Is there any ways of preventing this with my other plants that I'm planning to plant.

You don't say what the plants were cotang? If they were tomatoes then it sounds like they got caught by a frost. You don't say where you are in the country, but for most of us it's still too early to plant tomatoes and other frost tender plants out in the open.

Planted Melon plants and beans.

Live in Canada with weekly temp of 16C for high and 3C for low.

Definitely far too cold for melons, and probably for the beans too - if they're broad beans they'll be ok, but french beans & runner beans are frost tender too. You could try covering the plants with cloches and/or horticultural fleece but, at 3c overnight, it's just too cold for them really.

You also need to harden them off for 7-10 days before they go permanently outside.
(Take them outdoors daytime, take them back in at night for a week)

That I didn't do but am doing with the other plants right now. In the morning when it hot I take them outside and then bring them in when it sunset. Let wee what happens in a week.
