    I use fresh cat litter about mine. Seem to keep them at bay.

      I think they are meant to eat the bad leaves that trail on the ground or something. Other than that they seam to have consumed a lot of web space and served as a common source of anger for gardeners across the country. So I suppose they are like little slimy ambassadors really!

        Sorry Flum.....thought that'd be a plus point for having chickens. Ours don't like 'em. When we got the girlees last summer I offered slugs to them and they pecked but didn't like. Thought they were just unknowledgeable cos they were young. Tried again this year - nope def don't like them! But they love dandelion leaves; grass; spring onions; tulips; broccoli plants.....practically most things in garden!

          Ours have yet to be thrown a slug BUT....

          They loooove snails and am sure they'll get an appetite for caterillars too
