  • Have I overdone it a bit?

Well... this morning I put all of my toms out together for some hardening off. Knowing my luck it will be freezing today with gales.

This is what I have planted:

    2 Tigerellas
    4 Malakhitovaya Shkatulka
    4 Purple Ukraine
4 pots each of 4 different Tesco Cherry Tomatoes (not sure what will grow out of these, but they were a tiny red, a yellow, a plum orange and a black zebra cherry tomatoe.

    Total count: 26 tomatoes
I think my neighbours will be happy, lol... Saying that though, I am not sure if any of them will ripen unless we have a lovely summer up here.
In the worst case scenario it's green tomatoe chutney, green fried tomatoes all the way long.

I'm not telling you how many I've got (actually I've not counted - but it's more than that!). They look good strong plants you've got there. Here's to a good summer then!

Bah, now I feel like I haven't tried enough with the toms. I only have gardener's delights and I'm only keeping 6 - so am in good company with Fiona, perhaps?

I did sow the whole packet though - twas my very first thing I ever sowed and I didn't know any better. I've given away LOADS though, and am planning to give the last few spares away too.

Hi. I have eight tomato plants. I plant them out in the border in my greenhouse and I always have lots of toms to give away and for myself. My first year, I went a bit daft and had fourteen plants in there....it was like a jungle and made caring for them a bit difficult. You always manage to miss a sideshoot or two but when there are so many plants, you can't see 'em all or get at 'em either!!
I'd give up chocolate but I'm no quitter!

I haven't counted mine.... But I thought I had far too many, and then I found another tray In my defence I was growing for tunnel and greenhouse and I now only have greenhouse...
I'll find somebody to love the spares, I'm sure

nope I've collected a few more varieties since last update....

Look on the bright side loads of pasta sauses and tomato sauce and chutney this winter
Never test the depth of the water with both feet

The only reason people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory....

                        I really wish I'd got a greenhouse
