I've got 5 bags of potatoes growing (similar bags to this Buy Patio Potato Planters online from Suttons) 4 of them are fine and growing away nicely but the one in the middle keeps getting pulled over and the contents dug out by something (I'm assuming it's a fox) It's happened about 8 times now, I keep replanting them and they grow a little then get dragged out again, sometimes breaking roots or stalks in the process.
Anyone got any ideas why the fox (if it is a fox) would be doing this and how I can stop it, I did think of putting chicken wire over it but as it gets completely pulled over I don't think that would stop it. Or should I just give up on those few tubers as I've got plenty more in the other bags and some in the ground as well. But if I did give up on it I wonder would the culprit just move on to the other planters?
I then thought of planting something else in there but I don't think anything would survive the regular uprouting
