  • Peppercorms?

    What the devil are peppercorms?

Are they really corms? What will I get if I sow the ones in my pepper grinder?

Should I know the answer to this question doh!... or is it like why we get fluff in the belly button....unanswerable?

Gosh, that seems like hard work, I don't have a good track record with houseplants.

My God if they don't survive outdoors even in Summer how hot does it have to be? We had at least 34 degrees this year!

Nice one stg! I always assumed that because they were corms they were under the ground but now I realise they are dried fruit!

If it takes them 2-3 years to mature in the Indian sun I can forget about growing them in north East England!
Tried an Indian Golden Pea last year and even with exceptional weather here, it failed miserably!

Does sound like a bit much effort when you can just buy them in the store!!! Don't think I will try them.

I grew root ginger this past summer - not sure what to do with it now though!

              Hi
I was thinking about pepper and saw the heat problem, there are several kinds of Chinese pepper plants (Szechuan Pepper) available on the Agroforestry Research Trust website which they say can be grown outside.
I was thinking of having a go. Would be fascinating to see how it grows.
