  • I just can't wait...

...till I plant everything into the ground and get rid of all small pots and seed trays till the next season.Sorry but started to be a bit tense when I hear "seed tray"

    Seed tray trauma?

    Or maybe too many?

    Anybody else has it?

Not any more For me it was the plants Mum & I have raised for Cancer Research UK. The local shop where Mum works has a plant sale on Saturday and my home has been like a nursery for weeks. My few bits seem quite managable now. Just as well as DH suffers from pot rage

Yup - i'm with you! I have seed tray & 3' pot trauma! My 8x10 Greenhouse is chock-full of seedlings waiting to be hardened off, potted on, planted out, etc etc and i can't fit the other 2 growbags for my tomatoes in it until i've planted out a load of stuff! Everytime i go in i end up doing the seedling shuffle in an effort to fit more stuff in!

Oh, I'm hating seed trays (cell trays actually) ... they are chucked in the shed awaiting washing (ugh) and stacking.

I was only thinking this morning that it is all quite a lot of work and responsibility. It has seemed never ending keeping up with the next stage of potting on, more compost needed, rotation of the hardening off shelves. Phew, yes, I want it all in the plot (nearly there) and then I want rain and sunshine :-)
I do so hope that we all get good harvests !

I planted out the last of my hardy vegetables today - cabbage, brussel sprouts, celeriac - so that's a few less to look after.

What I've still got is a cold frame full of cucumber, courgette and squash - and some tomatoes in the conservatory, but I'm in the process of hardening them off (I grow them outdoors).

And yes, I do know what you mean about the seed tray and 3" pot stage. I'm past that - but have other worries, like the sweetcorn planted out and wrapped in fleece and the tomatoes already outside.

Maybe it's just all one big worry, but at least I've got the house back.
My DH is very tolerant and never complains about the house getting turned into a jungle.

I've got bean frenzy. Loads of them, beans, all over the place. And I've either got to use the OH's car to transport them to the lottie in one go or cycle them up tray by tray [can fit 2 on the bike in one journey]. I can't use my car as it is in hopsital and I've got a posh one that must NOT get dirty for the week.

The greenhouse is full and everything in it seems so slow. I want it all out so I can set more!! Am I mad???

Glad it's not just me, I was starting to feel like a traitor to the cause by getting fed up of the endless seedtrays & pots needing watering!

Me too! Particularly since I learned the lesson of "water from the bottom" so instead of going round everything with a watering can I now have to put everything in trays of water and as I've only the two, my OH is getting a little tired of every sink in the house being used for the purpose!

I'm suffering from 'have I planted enough phobia' every time I plant something out I have to start another tray in case I run out and haven't grown enough.

We have liberated the conservatory, two of the grow houses in the garden are put away. The last one will go into storage this weekend, so we will have the garden back.

On the allotment trays and pots have been travelling through greenhouses, into cold frames and onto the plots. The grow bags are now taking over in the greenhouses and within the next couple of weeks things should start to calm down.

I think us gardeners are just natural logistics experts
I am certain that the day my boat comes in, I'll be at the airport.
