over the past few days I have lost all my seedlings, they just seem to have died, my allotment partner - my mother is going to kill me, is it too late to start growing some more, I have about 6 beets left
Poor you. I know what mothers are like - I am one. However, you can still plant lettuce, radish, and many other salady thingies. I put the last of my runner beans in a few days ago, and my haricot beans (Yin yang) are still on my bench. You can always cheat and see what the local garden centers have in pots...I have even seen carrots ready to plant out. Yes, they can go in also. How did it happen? Anyroadup, I am sure some some of the viners have other suggestions too.

I think they drowned, I left them out when we had that heavy rain, I emptied the excess water out but they didnt make it, can I start to grow beets again?
What a shame Nickiwitch. Yes, it sounds as though they drowned - lesson learned.
Yes you can replant. They were only seedlings so the next sowing will only be a few weeks behind - don't drown them. And the garden centres are still full of ready grown stuff for planting. Good luck.
From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.
It's not too late to sow seeds - although I'd do it sooner rather than later. I'm just sowing all my winter crops just now - savoy and winter cabbage, PSB, swedes, kale etc. Though I am still making succesive sowings of Purple Top Milan Turnips, radish, lettuces, carrots etc.
