yellowing leaves on Jersey Royals

I planted International kidney spuds, (jersey royals) on the 18th March. They have been well watered and fed with BF&B. Now the leaves at the bottom are starting to curl a bit and go yellow. They are not ready to harvest yet, so any ideas?

Are you sure they're not ready and it's the beginning of dieback???
12 weeks planting to harvesting.( end Feb- now)
Jersey Royals have been in the shops for a while and you're in the sunny South East.

If you've had a furtle and there's not much there- then try feeding them????..maybe the nutrients have been used up?

Overcrowding,lack of water and potato cyst eel worm are other causes

If they were planted 18th March that is only 10 weeks ago.

International Kidney Jersey Royals are normally grown as 2nd earlies or early maincrop and I'd leave them for 16 to 20 weeks before harvest.

Some yellowing of lower leaves is nothing to worry about. Perhaps a liquid balanced feed could be given now if you are worried. Feed with tomorite in a fortnight.

If they've been in the recent winds that could also explain it.

Edit: if you've fed with BF&B then you could give them a nitrogenous feed as BF&B nutrients get used up at different rates, with the nitrogen being used first. Plants going green could mean they are a little short of nitrogen.

However, I wouldn't worry too much unless it gets worse.

Cheers nicos they have been fed, watered and talked to. May be the beginning of die back, by my calculations they will be ready mid june so it could be Had a furtle but didnt find anything.

many thanks teak desk I will give them a different feed now and try not to panic It is blatantly obvious that I am new to this isnt it?
