I know that slugs are ok in the compost bin, but what about tiggy -hoggies. Do they eat stuff and poo out compost like the slugs? Do snails do the same?

I confess to being bewildered - what on earth are tiggy-hoggies ? Neither me nor Google know. It sounds like hedgehog, but I cant imagine anyone having hedgehogs in the compost ?!
Please explain !
The only other thing I could find was tiggy-oggy, but that is a pastie so even less likely to be in the compost !odd notes about our kitchen garden project:

Glad it's not just me that's confussled!
Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.
Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Tiggy-hoggie
Never heard of grammersows but them's them. Guess it is another regional name for the wood louse. Thing is, should they be in my compost?
p.s. Some time ago there was hedgehog flavored crisps but I don't think they caught on.There's pleasure sure in being mad that only madmen know - Anon

well tiggy-oggies is a much friendlier name for them :-) I would have thought they were pretty harmless, except near ripening strawberries, in which case they are evil and destructive.odd notes about our kitchen garden project:

Woodlice are fine in the compost heap, they'll add to the decomposition process.
