Several of my purple topped milan turnips have gone to seed. They were planted at the beggining of April. One of the beds they were in doesnt get much soun could this be the problem? What can I do to avoid this next year
Could be. My parsnips have done the same and some are in shade. Could be lack of enough water. If a plant is struggling to survive, it will often go to seed to guarantee the next generation. Probably a cleverer viner will give you a better answer.

Oh dear Fi! I've just sown some more today hope they will be okay. Don't know what to suggest, don't think the lack of sun would have made much difference but lack of water might have.
Hot and cold spells in April could have caused premature bolting......just a thought!
