French beans

Hi all.... please can you help?

My french beans have reached the top of their 8ft cane wigwam. Do I need to pinch out the tops like I would with broad beans?

...should I have used longer canes?

They don't look very leafy at the moment, one pair of leaves every 20cm or so up the cane...

Pinch them out at the top of the canes. They will gradually fill out below don't worry
I had the same concern last year and they did great

Mine get pinched out at 6ft, at the most - because I'm a short-*rse I can't reach to pick them any higher than that

I had to pinch mine at 5ft6 'cos I'm even shorter. Going to grow bush types from now.

Pinch them out for sure, ideally no higher than 5' for bestest cropping in my experience.

I agree with TonyF .. last year I had to grow some Yin Yang on short canes (5 ft instead of 7 ft) and the crop was actually earlier and bigger than that grown on taller canes the year before.
