    Hello all, newbie with a question. I know you can compost waste from your hoover but was wondering if it was okay too do the same with fluff from my tumble dryer?

    I would say that man made fibres do not rot down but wool & cotton would be OK!

            Some people do, our line is shaded by tree's for a few hours so nothing really dries, takes 2-3 days sometimes

                Exellent, thank's for the replys. And yes even with two washing lines sometimes i have to use the dryer, you would'nt believe the amount of washing my family makes.

                  I'm having to use my dryer too I just can't manage to get the baskets in and out to the washing line yet. I've got an indoor line that I can get a few things on but with 5 of us it just isn't enough Apart from anything else, it's costing far too much in electricity, but heigh ho... Needs must.

                  As for the fluff, I don't compost it, I put it in an old hanging basket for the birds.
