Well, I've got some enviromesh and covered the broccolli/lettuce patch (bit difficult on my own, but it was worth it. Know what the best bit is? Watching frustrated wood pigeons walking round and round it and trying to work out why they can't get at my lettuce.

He he! I can't wait to watch the cabbage whites battering themselves on mine this year! 2 weeks ago I found a collection of garden centre vouchers - I put them somewhere safe after xmas and forgot all about them! Just the right amount for enviromesh for the brassica bed - excellent!Life is too short for drama & petty things!
So laugh insanely, love truly and forgive quickly!

I'm a big fan of enviromesh myself but can only afford to use it on my carrot bed!
It is a tad unsightly though, so I've toyed with the idea of painting a frieze of flowers around it so that when it's viewed from the side it blends in with the garden!
I kid you not!!!!!

Yes, Snager, You are mad. Join the club.
Re: the fleece, it s good but you can't see thru' it. The very fine on which I have gives me 70+% light. There's loads of other advantages but you can google them for details. I spoke to them by 'phone and they were really helpful. Now, I shall sit back and train my bins on it and watch the cabbage whites bash themselves silly against it. O yes, I didn't get any vouchers of any sort last Crimbo, but I did get pyjamas. (Mine are silk tho')There's pleasure sure in being mad that only madmen know - Anon

I've now got 3 pieces of it, each big enough to cover a 3m x 1.2m bed, after investing in one piece per year (from Harrod Horticultural, pay per metre) since I got my lottie. I have one over the carrot & parsnip bed and the other 2 over various brassicas. I love it!!

I've got some over my PSB and red cabbage with a couple of buckets of radishes in between the cabbages, made me smile to see a Cabbage white bouncing off the top along it's length, a real feeling of "YES"Hayley B
