peas question & compost from potatos

after finding out my biggest "pea" plant was a sweet pea (grrr) ive dug it up & now ive noticed i didnt have many other pea plants around it, it was all an illusion made by the (not-so)sweet pea. Is it too late for me to try & plant some more? if not how can i speed up germination or help myself?

also, i got impatient & have unearthed a bag of my potatos... think they were "swift" although not 100% sure as the OH mixed up my bags the sod so now i dont know if its maris peer or charlotte that ill be unearthing next. anyway, my question is can i use the compost that was in the potato bag to plant anything else or do i have to throw this away now?

I am sowing more peas today don't know if too late but worth a try!
Also the potato compost can be reused with anything other than the potato family. I have put some of it into my borders so far - not sure what to do with the rest once the potatoes are ready to harvest but am sure I will find something!

Agree with everything. As potato and toms are the same family, it either goes in the raised veg gardens, or I fling it round the flower beds, whichever one looks the most desperate.

So far I've emptied 2 potato bags - in one I have put a cucumber for outside growing as I'd run out of room in the greenhouse and a few celery plants - I hate the stuff but OH likes it

In the other I put some pea plants - half pint variety so I'm guessing they don't grow very tall.

All experimental but who dares wins (perhaps)

how can i speed up germination or help myself?

I chit my peas a few days before I want to plant them. I also try to be organised and put a note in my (mobile phone) calendar of when to sow things, so they are ready to go out as soon as a space is available. This comes with experience, and still doesn't always go according to plan.
