Ello all,

When do you know that a marrow is ok to pick? I know you can pick them young but I want some larger ones. How do you know if it is too late or not?

It's too late if you can't pick it up.

It's too late if it explodes when you try to pick it up - or it disintegrates through your fingers - or when you touch it, a swarm of flies fly away.

What I meant was............ is there a point where one should say "hmmmm I'd better pick this marrow now because in a couple of weeks it will be past it"???

Marrow picking

Look on the seed packet to see what size they are supposed to grow, and use that as a guide. If you are unsure, harvest when slightly smaller.
