avocado from seed
...well have never done this myself, but i have a really good book from the library at the moment about propagating plants. 'RHS Propagating Plants' Alan Toogood, Dorling Kindersley Books
According to my book you should
1. Soak the seed in hot water 40-52C for 30 mins
2. Trim 1cm off the pointed end with a clean sharp knife
3. Dip the wound in fungicide
4. Place seed in 15cm pot so that the cut top of the seed lies just above the surface of the compost
5. It should germinate in about 4 weeks.
Hope this helps!
