They reckon Kale tastes better after the frosts have had a go at it, but my kale is more than ready and has been in my boxes two weeks out of the last three, and nobody has complained about itRat

My first year growing dwarf curly kale, I've been picking leaves since the end of July - I was so proud when the grandchildren asked for more!
It's hard to keep up with picking young leaves, it grows fast. If they've got a bit big I just trim off and use the curly edges, but after reading the above I can see that the stem bit would be great chopped into a stir fry (that's where I use up the calabrese stems)Life is too short for drama & petty things!
So laugh insanely, love truly and forgive quickly!

am growing it for first time this year, just an experiment, and it nice, also steam it along with other veggies,if frozen it will go ito bits, and is fine in a stirefry, soup, hot pots,
have ordered 2 more different varieties for next year, and WILL grow less, lesson learned lol,the white fly is a real nuisance on them,as with all brassica, but underside of the leaves looks like little eggs on some,so have to have a good looksee, and sling, sigpicAnother nutter ,wife, mother, nan and nanan, love my growing places, seed collection and sharing, also one of these

Numpty Kale? Not heard of that one!
I pick individual leaves when they are ready. Been picking my asgaragus greens (a heritage kale which is really gorgeous) for a month or two now. The chickens fight me for it!Whoever plants a garden believes in the future.

I'll have to hide it in a stir-fry, or a curry or something
