  • Seaweed Extract and Seaweed Meal

I'm about to place an order with Garden Organic and have seen a special offer at the bottom of the basket.
Special Offer. If you spend over £12.00, you may add the following to your order.
    125ml SM3 SEAWEED EXTRACT - Special Price £1.70 save £1.25

Special Offer. If you spend over £45.00, you may add the following to your order.
2.5 kg SEAWEED MEAL - Special Price £5.25 save £2
    and/or
    1 litre SM3 SEAWEED EXTRACT - Special price £7.25 save £2
It occurs to me that I have no idea how to use either of them, what I'd use them for, whether I want to get any or if it's a good offer.

So, what would you use extract and meal for, is there much difference between the two and does that seem like an offer worth taking?

    Hiya,

I use seaweed extract to feed my plants and seedlings. I also use it as a foliar drench. It's a stimulant, apparently, and encourages the microbial activity in the soil. Dunno... I ain't no microbiologist , but it definitely works for me. My french beans had stopped producing back in Sept and I was advised by a friend to use continue feeding. Lo and behold, I'm eating my second crop of French beans (but it might have something to do with the weather too).

      Thanks for that, WG.

In the end I decided to save my money on this order and only got the seeds without taking up the special offer on seaweed stuff.

I'll probably get some extract and start using it next year though.
