Can you tell me what the scoop is on old bottles on wine re pouring onto the compost heap. I have some hanging around - just quarter full bottles thinking it will come in handy sometime, but now just want rid. Would be it good or bad for compost or would it just lead to drunk mice? Thanks.
My philosophy would be that if it's not cooked veg, then compost it.
Never have this problem myself though (hic) !
I compost the lees of my brew, and any remains of fruit (except blackberry - don't want brambles everwhere).
Anyway, if the mice get drunk they can't do as much damage surely???
Cheers! It's only going on the heap as it's so old it's beyond human consumption. It's so good to be able to get answers to questions that are never likely to appear in any gardening books!
(should mix in well with coffee from starbucks!)
