    advice needed.

I have a bijou garden in east london and due to presence of two k9's (x-racing greyhounds) grow all my veg in containers. What is the best way, if any to reuse/recycle the spent compost?

I have a small compost bin which is alas full of kitchen/garden waste and a wormery which is just a few weeks old so the little 'wigglers' are not quite in top gear yet.
My very small patch of available ground is occupied by two minarette apple trees so there is no way of recycling this spent compost by 'digging it in'.
    Any practical suggestions please.

    Spent Compost

    Hi Hils
Does your local council operate a "brown bin" scheme - if so apply for one and your garden waste problems are solved. If you feel this would take to long to fill, would look ugly or you have no room, see if you could share one with one or more of your neighbours.
If no brown bin scheme is available, either bag it and bin it or bag it and take it to your local tip - they usually have an area or container specifically for compostable waste.
Either way, I'd start by calling your council.
    Cheers

      Why couldn't you?

Why couldn't you treat pots like rotation beds, thus replenishing them and refeeding them over a 4 year period? Would certainly stop us just flinging the soil out of the pots and into our bins.

        Hils,

NA Kays sell something that you mix with compost fromm pots & it's supposed to revive it. I've never tried it though.

You an get into Kays site if you use ntg's link but omit the /2.html at the end - i.e just use the .co.uk address.
