Oh I well remember my first attempt to grow lettuce. I found a few tiny tiny caterpillars on one and, being the nature lover I am, couldn't bear to remove them. I can't remember exactly how many hours it took them to devour the lot..... No more the nice guy!

Thank you everyone for your help. I'm hoping that this year I will have some cabbages and calabrese as a result.
