  • Seed Potatoes getting the best start

I received seed potatoes a couple of weeks ago. I know that you can set them into egg boxes to start growth but thought this was too early so separated the types with newspaper and put into the garage (no light, cold but frost-free ish). I live in North East Scotland and want to know if it is OK to leave them in the garage for a few weeks yet as I think it is likely to be late March or April before I can plant them. Any advice gratefully received as I am very new to gardening.

Thanks for that. So presumably the cool/cold garage should be OK as no room in salad drawer or any other part of fridge!

I would not leave them there too long or you will have long white shoots growing if they are kept in the dark day light is prefered....jacob

I'm tempted to order some seed spuds from T&M due to the free P&P offer at the moment, but I'm just worried about how to store them until late January.
