  • Wire mesh

    Hi everyone,

Sorry I havent been around been frantically weeding!!

I am now at a stage where I have to get the fencing in. Does anyone have any idea where I can get some reasonably priced wire mesh fencing? I need about 150-200m of the stuff over 1m high so I can dig it down, problem is its so expensive so far I havent managed to find it for much less than £200.

    Any ideas??

The only place we could find it at all Elmo was B & Q and it didn't work out cheap. Good luck with the search.

I'm green with envy elmo - the ground on my lottie is so waterlogged at the mo, not sure when I'll be able to do some weeding! Havae you tried your local "freecycle" ont' net? If you type in freecycle on the search thingy at the top of the vine you'll find the info regarding how/where to log onto. DDL

Thanks everyone I have found it at farm supplies for £160 but also on ebay for £144. There are so many other things I'd rather buy than wire fencing but I suppose if I don't keep the rabbits out I won't have anything left at all so I guess its a necessary evil. Fortunately its my birthday soon so I have asked everyone for a contribution to my fencing even if it is a bit of an odd gift

Allotment is a bit too soggy today so internet shopping here I come!!! The moths havebeen flying out my wallet this month

Re Freecycle - it's a really good thing to do. Haven't acquired anything yet, but got rid of some greenhouse glass that's been holding up the lottie shed today, and someone actually collected the old slow cooker which has been lurking in the cupboard under the stairs.
