  • decent deal on tatties

hi all, for anyone with a B@M store(similar to poundstretcher),the one in stevenson in ayrshire is selling seed potatoes(charlotte, maris piper, king edwards etc) for £1.69 and i had a good look at them and could see nothing wrong except that they were a bit smaller than some, but healthy looking all the same.

I buy most of mine from Halwyn Nurseries in Stratford Street in Nuneaton @£2.70 for 3 kg they are sold loose and you pick your own as many or as few as you want and they are Scotch seed ..
Also sold loose Onion sets and Shallots sold by weight and peas and beans sold by the PINT..
A old fashioned shop that gives good service....jacob

We bought ours from a similar nursery jacob. 95p for 10 or £2.50 for 3kg

onions loose - £1.40/£1.50 for 1kilo basically worked out to be 1p per set.

I did notice the B&M offer but think you only got 10seed potatos in there.

My mobility is not what it was so i suppose the smaller amounts mean i can grow 3/4 types for a reasonable price without too much effort, and it keeps me out of the house..away from daytime tv.
