Orange and lemon plants

Hi everybody,
I bought a small lemon plant and an orange plant last year but foolishly left them in the unheated greenhouse over winter (numpty) they don't too clever
:-( Have i lost them altogether and should i just chuck them.

Mine happily spend winter in an unheated greenhouse. Do they still look as if they have some life left? (Try scratching a bit of bark off the stem and see if it's green underneath.) As soon as we get some decent weather there's a good chance they will pull round if they are not completely dead.

If there are no green leaves on it and you have just a brown stick then I'd say it's dead. But, if there are green leaves then wait until April when there should be new shoots.

Inside the greenhouse they should be fine, but they are likely to loose there leaves, as long as there not overwatered they should be fine
Ive got a bit of an experiment this year (forced upon me).....one of mine lives outside all year long, this year it was fine wrapped in frost cloth, xmas lights on it, i went away for a week, when i got back the wind had ripped the frost cloth off a giant iceberg (6 inch thick and 1m in diamiter) had landed on the center of the tree, the branches were covered with thick ice and icicles hanging from it
Well......i thought it would be a bit dead....
Seems ok, lost 90% of the leaves and about 50 lemons lost due to frost damage but a bit looks destroyed on the top, most of the branches seem ok and all have some leaves that are now fine , theres some new shoots forming now ive taken the frost cloth off during the day a few times
So mine seems fine(well sort of fine...ish) outdoors unheated but it is a large old tree with branches that are more likely to survive due to size, one in a greenhouse should be fine even if its quite young

The leaves on the lemon are all curled up and yellow. The orange has greenish leaves but they are all curled. I just went out and scratched a wee bit of the stem and is seems moist and healthy (i think)

Sounds like it's just a bit shocked then and the leaves will grow back. Mine did a similar thing. Last year I brought it in the house (unheated room) for winter, this year I forgot and it was in the g/h and seems a bit sad now! Winter was much harsher.
I have hope it will recover.
