Last Fall we took on a *very* overgrown allotment. We cleared a space and planted some garlic. A while after that a much better (no brambles!) plot came up and we took that one instead. The garlic has come through and appears to be growing very happily. However, we just found out that someone else has taken over our old bramble plot. Would it be possible to move the garlic onto our new plot or is it a lost cause?

I moved mine last year from 1 raised bed to another, and all was well.
Just make sure you lift as much of the surrounding soil as poss, so that you don't upset the bulbs too much. Have a hole ready to drop them into, if poss carry them across on the spade you dug them up with, and just slot them in. Might not be as simple if you have further to move them, than I did, but I'm sure they be fine.

When I dug all mine up last year for their weighings; I dug them up, knocked all the soil off, weighed them, left them in a bucket over night and took them back to the lottie a day or several later; and replanted. They carried on growing fine.
