    My Draper pH/light/moisture meter doesn't even go up to 10, it stops at 8 - I thought that the needle was pretty much at the stop where it is. Oh well, I suppose that not much grows above a pH of 8, vegetation wise, does it ?
    There's no point reading history if you don't use the lessons it teaches.

      Have you tested this meter on:
      lemon juice [should be below 7]
      water [should be 7]
      a little washing soda in water [should be above 7]

      Just to see if it is working properly?

        OOh, calibration ! What an exciting idea. Hadn't thought of that !
        Mmmmh, what do I do if it turns out that the meter lies ? I suppose I would have to buy a new one <stingey Aberdonian wails and weeps over wasted money, gnashes teeth at thought of more expense>
        ...Unless of course I just assumed it would always have the same amount of error, in which case I'd be saving myself from spending money !
