slab 42p for a 6ft length from our local timber yard. I was the first to stumble across them now a year later about 6 other plots have raised beds made from slab wood.

I use 6 to make 4ftx12ft beds and the 2ft cut of the two end pieces makes a boder along the front of the plot which I can easily remove for manure deliveries etc

That was a really good site. Ok it might be over the top to some people, but I find I get inspiraton from many posts on here, as I am sure others do as well.

No matter how much we know, we all are contstantly on a learning curve, and even if we just pick up a small tip from any post, it is worth the effort of looking at them with an open mind.

I just wish I could source more cheap wood to make some more raised beds as they are a great way to manage crops.

TK - you gotta spell Zazen's name right, and post a bit more before you get promoted from sprouter! I think you'll get to rooter next (200 posts?).

                    as above,

I'll upload a picture ( If ican work out how to do it)

Basically imagine a semi circle shape but 12 ft long. They can range between 15cm and 30cm high, I pick out pieces that are about 25cm high. They look quite smart with the bark which falls off after about a year.

The beds look like rustic and in keeping with a lottie

Sounds like a good cheap, rustic looking, eco friendly use of timber............might even search out a wood yard myself.

PS My old favoured wood yard area has now had yuppie houses built on it! Grrrrrrr!!!!!

That might explain this shed, MDF inside, rustic looking outside.

Possibly; this shed has Satellite TV, a Wii and various other groovy equipment in it, so any kid could wile the hours away whilst their mum potters on the lottie.

I know this because I asked her if I could have a nosey when we were at the lottie open day.
