As above-what to paint them with(inside)before filling?Could you recommend any particular paint that is safe to use and protects the timber?Any suggestions welcome
Although I likes the idea when I first read it, as well as what Paulottie says, you only need to nick the paint and you have a way for damp to get in and any wet inside the wood will be stuck there, it's why when you sometimes touch a bit of old timber, it's only the paint holding it together and the whole thing crumbles.
This is the reason I also don't like lining the inside of beds with plastic.
Thinking about it, the best thing to do with wooden raised beds, is to push all the soil off the sides, into the centre during the winter, so they have a chance to dry out. I might try it next year, now I've thought about it.
