  • Drooping Peppers

    Hi all,

I'm new here, in fact this is my first post ever on any forum but here goes.

I have been growing stuff for a couple of years now, I grow pretty much as much as I can and in wide variety. I am growing peppers, tomatoes, chillis and cucumbers in the greenhouse this year.

My query is, I've just potted some peppers seedlings on into 3" pots (the peppers are about 4 to 5 " tall, and within half an hour they've all wilted and are touching their toes (if you can imagine a pepper doing this).

I gave them a good watering and they're sitting in the conservatory at about 25 deg C in a bit of shade behind a blind so that they're not in direct sunlight.

I was just about to pot the rest on but not if they're all going to do the same.

    Any ideas?

I should think they'll all perk up again quite quickly.

      Yep,

You're right, they're slowly recovering. Was a bit worried for a minute there !

I think I'll get on with the rest now.

      Bye for now.

Good, I'm glad they are okay. I'm just potting mine up today too.

                Thank you for the welcome.

I ended up potting on about 20 peppers and 30 chillis and they all did the same thing and then recovered after about 2 hours. I think they had a bit of a shock when I pulled them out of their nice cosy den and moved them. They're all fine now.

                Bye for now

Hi and welcome. I often put newly transplanted seedlings under the staging in the shade for a few hours to let them acclimatise. They soon freshen up.
