Another potting-on question.

I've always done gradual potting on.
Most things seem to like this and can sort out their leaves and roots!
I think that it's "Gentle Nurture" that's needed.

Having said that, I'm trying to force my brasicas into making really good roots this year, before planting them out, because I have club root.
Therefore I'm potting them up early to try and get them to produce really good root systems in new compost before they are planted out.

So, what would the ideal progression for tomatoes be? 3 inch, 5 inch and then final planting?

Mine have just gone into 6 inch pots, and seem OK so far, I just hope I haven't upset them!

That's what I do. They won't sulk because of an inch!

Some of my plants are going into those big patio pots and they're currently in the module trays. Do I need to pot these all the way up, until they're finally in pots just smaller than the big pots?

I'm planning on putting more than one plant in some of the pots.

If they are bedding plants, I put them from modules into big pots. I tend not to do it wth veg plants.

You aren't allowed vegicide. Justifiable herbicide can be condoned, however, in certain circumstances.
