vine weed is a pest

hi i have just taken over an old plot but it has one problem vine weed is every where. what is the best way to kill it off ( sodium chlorate ) ??
or is there any other product on the market that will do the job.
i will not be putting veg in this year

I haven't found a chemical that will get rid of this completely - this is a topic that comes up regularly so have a look at this thread which discusses getting rid of bindweed
