    Hi everybody, im about to give up on my artichokes, i put some(seeds) in a pot and then in a sandwich bag (propagate) they sprouted and got to about an inch then just, almost over night wilted and turned brown, i have put a second lot in and they look like they are going the same way, any ideas? i would love to grow some to save

    You must take the bag off when they have germinated.

          But i did i did, was i not quick enough? does it have to be when i can just see them through the soil-just?

          And am i likely to get any edibles this year?

            I don't think you get edibles in the first year anyway.....we certainly didn't.

            At this time of year, isn't it better to not put a bag over them at all, and to grow them harder; after all they will be out all winter and are hardy so they don't need molly coddling....

              My first year out of 3, one had a flower head the size of a golf ball- so I chopped it off as it was developing.
              All had small, edible chokes the following year.
