Any Asparagus Tips

I've decided to grow some asparagus from seed to plant out in my new allotment next year.

I've started to follow the instructions on the packet by soaking the seeds but I was wondering if anyone had any tips based on their experiences?

I grew some a few years ago. Sow seeds singly in small pots or cell trays. As they grow, gradually pot on into bigger pots and when your plot is ready and the plants are big enough simply plant them out.
