    Help
I started the thread "courgette - what next."
I posted a piccy of one of my courgettes. After your help we believed it was growing my first courgette. However since then the fruit started to go soft and grew mold. I cut it off and threw it away so as not to infect the plant. I now have more growing but have noticed more mold. The mold seems to be coming from the shriveled up flower. I have pulled the flower off and am keeping my eye on the fruit.

I would assume this is not normal.

Any explanations or advice will be appreciated.

    Completely normal.

The first few courgettes are always problematic. Just relax and let it grow out. Nip off any that look a bit weird and soon you'll be swimming in courgettes.

          Hi Buffs,
I am growing them in Morrisons flower buckets.
These are sitting in home made trays ( Indian Ghee Buckets cut off to 7 inches high )
I water into the ghee buckets but never put in more than 1.5 inches of water. The Courgettes seem to drink this amount daily.

Since the start of this thread I now have about 5 fruits growing, which all look healthy ( no mold yet )
I have also been pulling off a male flower and pollinating the females by hand - just to make sure.
